You're right; and it's a good question worth a decent answer. Which in
this group is far more difficult to come by than is ought to be or used
to be. It's not you. You're doing all the right stuff.

It's just that this group has become progressively less helpful and
useful and progressively more attuned to smart-assing than it could be.

Shit, I'd tell you the differences if I knew them, but I don't. So I can't.

But, having said that, given reasonable maintenance on both, I'd go for
the newer one. As has been said, you'd have whatever improvements were
made over the two year model cycle and given reasonable maintenance the
mileage difference won't mean that much.

But what the fuck do I know about gnu? I'm sitting here looking at a
100 year old house on a hill in Tennesee and giving serious thought to
buying it. So how fucking smart can I be?
