Audacity? Certainly very free and very reliable. Can't be sure if it
does .aa files, but it's worth a look.

Fine for the engines in the 20s & 30s maybe, less so for a high revving
highly tuned 2-stroke.

Was it obvious at that point that they represented where mainstream
biking was going? Did fairings just look like an ugly irrelevance?

What surprised me is the claim that bone conduction of noise can damage
hearing. I wear earplugs myself, and they make quite a difference. Without

I'm pretty sure an LS2-powered trike would have no trouble
pushing the unpowered wheel through the mound of slush in
the middle of the lane!

In more than a few, the reason they're obliged to do that (open to the
public for a couple of days) is the grant money they got from the Govt
came with that string attached.
Frankly, if I were living in a castle that had been rebuilt with public
money and I'd paid not a bean towards it, I'd be quite happy for the
plebs to tramp around the place for a week while I buggered off to the
Bahamas.
