Well, after months of riding to work, and being very careful (and happy to just cruise along) following my lane(s), I finally got up the courage to try a lane split along the motorway. Went about 300-400 metres, and even in that short time saved a few minutes.
It had been raining fairly steadily since I left home, and about 3/4 of the way to work (so about 20-25 mins in) the rain was starting to come through my gear. Came upon stopped traffic (honestly - there's no reason to stop on a bloody motorway!!! *sigh*) . Had two bikes head on through lane splitting and decided that now was as good a time as any to learn. Just took it really easy, and slowly but even so....it was cool. Nice that a lot of cars moved over too for me. Helps that my baby is quite narrow too

So while I probably wont be making a regular habit of it, it's nice to know what to expect and to know that I can do it if I decide to (more than likely if traffic is stopped / crawling).
Yay me!
