Hi Dave,

I can hear Easy when he hears of some guy ridin' up to the Cobra's club
house & announcin' "I want a patch for Joe Mama"! *That* story would be told at
every IRL for years to come........................8^)

Yep, a loud retort with some reference to aluminum foil - with all due
respect to Joe Mama's memory.
I can still hear the big man laugh.
Funniest story I always remember first was told about when he and a
bunch were sitting around a fire at Mr. Becker's place in Carolina a few
years ago. Easy made some comparison to the heat of the fire and
Auschwitz...and another reveler quickly interrupted saying, "Hey man, my
grandfather died at Auschwitz". Easy said this made him admittedly a
bit uncomfortable and as he was quickly thinking on how to extricate
himself from the situation with a tad of dignity the other reveler
added, "yep ol' gramps fell from the guard tower and broke his f%$king
neck"!
I'd bet he can still feel that hook, eh?

That sounds like me, but I don't recall being at Mr. Becker's. I've used
that one a few times, quite possibly at Spunky's, and at least twice in here
according to a quick google search on "guard tower". Funny thing is, my
dad's cousin actually did fight for Germany in WWII on the Russian front
(not in a camp that I'm aware of), and lived to tell about it. I met him
once before he died but the language barrier didn't help the conversation
any, and I'm sure asking him if he served in a concentration camp wouldn't
have been the best of supper time topics.

I wasn't there. Pretty sure there was a fire involved to initiate the
scenario. I'm sure you'd recall getting Easy. Probably a pretty good
chance of this being a well known and usable ploy. I know I've been
waiting for an opportunity to arise to use it.
