Don't think I'd pay $18k, but I kinda like it. Face it, I just like a
bike I can tinker on.
My back ain't so far gone yet that I couldn't ride it to town on the
weekends.

Heh, I've already got 3 as it is and no job. Took the Superglide apart
yesterday to change out the chain and sprockets. Now I find that I need the
stupid aluminum "a-b-c" pressure plate for the clutch and a new compensator
sprocket. Oh, Joy.
Bet this one gets a solid sprocket in place of the compensator, too.

Oh that's not even the least of it. At a mall the other day, they were
selling SOA shirts at one store. Great, instant SOA 'chapters' popping
up all over the place. As if BLS wasn't silly enough ("we're not a
biker gang, we just look like one...").

Just got back from Gateway HD's big sale - they were selling SOA shirts
long or short sleeves, hoodies, you name it. Didn't see anybody buying
them, tho.

I got the inner primary off and now I have bigger problems. Apparently when
it threw the chain,, the chain bunched up behind the front trans to inner
primary studs and broke the area where the studs go into the trans case off.
Bike's a 4 speed chain final drive evo. Bet I'm gonna have a good time
finding a case.

Well crap, sorry to hear that, bud. Lemme buy yer libations today and
we'll cross our fingers for good news.
Jeanne's wages were frozen 1 1/2 years ago, and all their bennies were
dropped a few months ago. Oh, and everyones hours were dropped to no
more than 36 hrs per wk.
They were *supposed* to raise wages to counter th' loss of bennies,
but surprise, surprise, ain't happened yet. They used to dish out
raises at th' annual evaluations, now ya just find out if ya still
have a job <g>. We live in interesting times.

Sorry to hear of the misfortune, Old Crow, and hope things turn around
soon.
On the primary... have you considered whether or not you even need
those 2 bolts going into the tranny? I mean, it doesn't seem to me
the inner primary gets strained all that much.
I'm just goin' by the 3-bolts-should-be-plenty-for-anything
principle... |

I'm fairly sure I need these. I'll post a pic across the street in a few.
