| | | Does anybody ride anymore.. I'm at the beach for a week with the family, without the bike.
I really figured I'd get to read something about motorcycles here.
When I leave here, I'll be back at the cabin, I'll have Rodney, and I'll
even go and ride him and tell ya'll about it.
I might even have a chance to figure out what's wrong with him.

I've been riding the '93 FXR every day since curing the pulled cylinder
stud. It needs more TLC, rocker box oil leaks (again), some chatter from the
swing arm when rear braking, and some other unknown clunking over hard bumps
that needs attention, but the 'lectrics, motor, brakes, and tires don't seem
to care or complain about being ridden by a fat middle-ager who's in no
hurry to get to work, or back to the home garage at the end of the day.
Been rained on more times than not over the past few weeks. One day so bad,
I couldn't see where the fuck I was going through the PlexiFairing and had
to putt along at 10MPH using my hand as a wiper blade while running through
inches deep puddles, with the water splaying back up onto my legs, and some
of it splashing up under the shield on my 3/4 helmet.
But for the gators, that would-a really sucked. I'm considering cutting the
fairing down a few inches so I can see over it in the rain, instead of
having to look through it. But, I do like being completely behind a shield
when cranking along at the local 65-70MPH highway speeds, especially when it
starts to get down around 50F.
That said, I don't ride if it's raining in the morning, 'cuz I don't got
rain pants, just a coat and gators. But in the afternoons I don't care as
long as my feet and torso stay dry. Only missed a morning commute a couple
of times and only pussied out once 'cuz the weather ass said it was gonna
thunderstorm in the afternoon.
I'm going to get rained on again today I figured when I headed out this
morning, but from here in my office I can't see out the windah so not so
sure off hand. Gotta either look at the radar on the PC, or go look out a
lab window.
I also just snapped the innards of my speedo cable again, after replacing it
only a few weeks ago. I had the PlexiFairing off for a while when it was
warmer, and now that it's cooler I put it back, and forgot that it bends the
speedo cable down toward the headlight eyebrow, causing it to snap at speed.
Fuck. Little shit like that'll drive me to drink.
Speaking of which, this round's on me.

You must be thinking of SteveT.
Butt, yer right, I haven't ridden in almost a week.
Haven't even gone anywhere this year, and still managed to put 5K on
Rodney and 7.5K on Rude Olf.
You gonna come down and watch me ride Rodney the weekend of the 23rd?
I'll even Pose for pictures.

The PNW has been outstanding this year. Other than going out with the
missus, I haven't driven a car since early June. If every year was
like this I might even think of retiring here... not!

Boaters World, look into a set of rain gear made by "Against the
Elements". Two piece that you buy separately, & you can't get wet in 'em if you
put 'em on right. Cut that windshield down just enough to see over it, use the
face shield & rain gear when needed, & your rain/vision problems are solved.

I ride pretty much every day . 'Leven miles on the north loop to work ,
'leven miles on the north loop home nine or ten hours later . And on
friday's , I ride to the bank too !
Tomorrow , we're going to the mountains for the weekend . Unfortunately ,
I won't have the bike there . I kinda figure I better concentrate on the
missus , since saturday is our anniversary . 35 years , for those who
count such things - yes , she will be canonized after she's gone , and she
bloody well deserves it for putting up with me .

Motorcycles are scary!
It's weird riding my motorcycle around where there is no corn!
Motorcycles are fun!
I was just looking at my copy of "Sit Down, Shut Up and Hang On" and
laughed when I read where Penny Powers signed it and wrote: "John: Ride

I'm laughing again!
I like motorcycles!

Oh, I've got one of those. Had a weird ride the other day. Rear master

oil leak before I could get home.
