Last fall I started to leave the cargo trailer at home because it was
late summer and surely I wouldn't need extra jackets, heated gear,
etc. for a little 10 day wander from TX out to NV & CA. Then
I woke up in Flagstaff a couple of days later and when I pulled
out of the motel at sunrise it as 24`. Guess who was really damn
happy to dig into the trailer and grab the heavy Cortec jacket,
the zip in liner, the heated Gerbing jacket liner and gloves?
All the stuff I started to leave at home and just toss a T-bag
on the passenger seat instead of pulling the trailer sure came
in handy that morning.

Yep, that sure looks like it. I do enjoy wandering and taking
a bit of time to snap a few photos now and then. Hell, at my
age if I don't have photos I won't remember where I was in
six months or so.

True enough for you younger folks. But for me the Wing is a lot
more comfortable after 4 or 5 hours. A good 18 hour day in the
saddle on the FLHRI would totally kill my back and knees.
I had rather be comfortable than turn the ride into an endurance
contest.

That's about as long as I could take it on a Wing over the Alps.
I could have done better with highway pegs and a different seat.
But both those things have been added to my Harleys too.
Harley fits me better than anything I've ever tried.

My wife rides her own, so she can carry her own mascara. It's the bigger
tent, chairs, air matteress, food and food prep stuff and such that make the
trailer helpful.
I rode to the Snow Run this year without the trailer since I didn't need a
lot of that stuff. I felt the bike handled worse with the camping gear
strapped to it than it did pulliing the trailer.

Ahem, er, uh, ah, I'm thinkin when you passed 10 hours in a day you
were already into an endurance contest. After 12 hours my ass is ready
to leave me and take itself to the nearest La-Z-Boy outlet.
I like the idea of 7-8 hours and a steak dinner with a cold beer.
