| | | OT (Duc) ride Have a drink,
Well I got hurt 2 months ago (lower back) and was having a hard time
gettin round. This happened right after I broke in my new bike, ain't that
a bitch. So there I was, to broke down to even gedt my leg over and had a
brand new Ducati eye balling me every time I went in my garage.
I'm able to move pretty good now, hunched over a little but can turn my
head and can bend at the waist now. I haven't had a loratab in 4 days so
things be looking up.
Anyhoo, I got a hundred and fifty odd miles in this AM before the
thunderboomers rolled in. Country roads out to the north of me (I'm on the
Gulf of Mexico), no traffic and actually found twisties out in the middle of
nowhere. My safe driver course from last year has had the mandatory year
as of two days ago so I was able to throttle up a little. I discovered when
down shifting to 5th at 115 or over, the wind blows the foot back unless I
consiously pay attention getting back into position. The HM corners and
sticks like crazy, better than the cyclone I owned a few years back. If I
put my nuts against the tank, I can really get some lean. If I slide back
on the seat, she wheelies in first at a little over half throttle. I
discovered she'll roll-on wheelie in second if I'm not careful. Oh, I was
getting 50MPG until today

Glad you're back in the saddle again. That Duc therapy will probably do
you some good, particularly good for your head.

Glad to hear your feeling good enough to ride again Tony. I forget
which HM do you have? I was looking at the new 2008 1100s hot damn
that is one purty little bitch. I heard it comes with it's own ticket
book, you just sign one and mail a check every time you start it up

Glad you're back at the throttle. Sounds like high energy adventure.
There was a guy down this way that bought a 600 GSX R for fun and told
the story about his first impatient roll on while passing a car. A tad
bit awkward when that front wheel wants to fly, eh?

I have the standard (no brembo brakes, uncool wheels etc). She's more fun
than a barrell full of monkeys. I have to consiously watch the speedo all
the time cause she just wants to scream.

I put my 7/75 on ice over at gramma's house, I start her up every other week
but don't ride her anymore. The HM is just too much fun and my job has me
in a truck all week long so riding time is precious. I'm being real good
about keeping the front wheel down. I left a gas station and goosed the
throttle when I first got her and ended up with a sloppy accidental wheelie.
That kinda learned me

Good to hear, sounds like the bike has been neglected and I didn't want to
have to come down there and take it away.
