For now I'm 5 on, 2 off (Sat-Wed on, Thur & Fri off). When I finish
my 4-week orientation I'll go to nights, which will be a rotating
schedule....
2 on-2 off...2 on-3 off...3 on-2 off, etc with every other weekend
(Th&Fr) off. I'm looking forward to nights....I hate having someone
looking over my shoulder all the time, although I will miss having
someone to translate for me. lol I think I'm doing pretty well with
the few phrases I know, though, as I've gotten great x-rays with
minimal hand gestures. lol

I'm thoroughly enjoying your adventures with the bug....vicariously,
of course.

I was in awe of, and inwardly cringing (cringeing?) over Wakko's tale
of trial by fire.....loved the pix and stories from SCUM.....and enjoy
all the other "normal" living that's going on.

I'm doing pretty well here, so far. I know where the local dealership
is, and will surely end up with at least a shirt from them. lol I'm
betting they won't let me test ride anything. ;-)

The worst part of all of this mess, so far, is the fact that I get
motion sickness in the worst way when I have to ride in a back
seat....and of course, that's where we lowly females sit when we taxi
our way around town. We went shopping last night, and I seriously
thought I was gonna hurl in the poor guy's car. I'm getting queasy
just thinking about it. Ugh.

Other than that, getting settled in fairly well. Work is work...with
some oddness thrown in, of course. But I think I'm gonna be fine with
it. The x-ray equipment is all familiar, but the computer programs
they use are a little different. I'm sure I'll figure it all out,
though. I consider myself reasonably intelligent with regard to stuff
like that. lol (I just jinxed myself.) I have no choice but to
learn some of the language, since most of our patients are not from
Riyadh and don't speak English. No complaints, though. I don't
believe in visiting a foreign country and expecting them to cater to
me in that regard....I'm here, so I need to learn how to communicate.
Especially with what I'm doing...failure to communicate properly can
be a very bad thing in my work world.

And I keep forgetting to add that my roomie is from Halifax, NS.
Maybe you know her, Tud, since it's a small island. <efg> Cute
little thing, she works in the Cytogenetics lab and rides a Ninja.
And no, I won't ask her to show anyone her tits. LOL Our
personalities are similar so we're getting along fine, although she's
ten years younger than me.
