I agree.
That bar-mounted HD radio is just plain wrong.

Never thought I'd like a radio on a bike.....but when I traded my '02 Deuce in
on my '05 Ultra.....Man, oh man......
Not only did it have the stock AM/FM/CD/CB/WB....it had a K&M speaker upgrade,
as well as a three pocket windshield pouch thingie....the center section being
the mount for a SkyFi (or SkyFi2) XM receiver......
I frikkin LOVE having XM on the bike.......I've got all my favorites tuned,
including CNN, Air America (sfsf) as well as local traffic and weather, and the
nationwide disaster channel.
Liked it so much on the bike, I installed a car kit in my truck, and put a home
kit in the house on my Surround Sound system.
Something to be said about being able to listen to your favorite channels no
matter what, no matter where.......
Gotta say though that last year when I rode from Arizona to Ohio and back, after
about day 3.....the music just kinda blended in with the wind noise. I switched
over to talk radio and all was right again....<sfsf>. |

i NEVER thought i would pay for radio service but after my brother got me
set up for christmas 3 years ago ive kept it ever since. i have it in the
truck (free for first year on new dodge vehicles) and i have it on the
portable stiletto that also uses WIFI when indoors so like you i have
satellite radio pretty much everywhere i go.

i do the same thing, although "the sky is falling" nature of talk radio
tends to take away from the enjoyment of the ride. if not music i usually
keep it on the blue collar comedy channel.

thank you for the reply. have you actually tried them? if they work i
wouldnt mind paying the $200 for a set but ive got a $70 pair of noise

You're kidding, right????
Ever read any of Howard Zinn's stuff.......he's been a political science prof at
Boston College since the 60's...brilliant man.
Read his book "A People's History of the United States".
The main point is that our entire political process, the two party system is a
smoke screen to distract us. No matter who we elect nothing changes because the
power is really in the hands of corporate interests and always has been...all
the way back to the beginning.....
The book is the history of America that you didn't learn in school. It's told
from the viewpoint of the indians, women, minorities, working men. Talks about
how damn close this country came to going socialist in the 1890's due to the
abuses upon the public by corporations, businesses, monopolies.....and how they
used the government....and troops to put it down.

No......you didn't mention that the system was setup like this from the getgo in
1776 on purpose, you didn't mention economic neoliberalism that's been fucking
things up worldwide since the late 50's....
(and please understand the term "neoliberal" actually refers to radical
conservative economic theory)
>

Well........I'll vote for him because the current administration has lied, broke
the law, and fucked things up to a point I don't know how long it will take us
(if we can at all) to recover. Electing McCain just gives us more of the same.
And
As a resident of his home state, I know things about McCain that would prevent
me from voting for him for dog catcher. Stuff I've know for years....none of
it's new, none of it's been talked about at all by Obama's side.
And
In my books....."Republican" has been a dirty word since the Nixon days, and has
NEVER gotten any better.
But then I read a lot...... |

Completely relevant......
The sides have changed over and over, changed philosophies over and
over.....it's a systemic problem and how it was setup from the beginning.
Take a wider view......

BINGO......
The majority of them were well to do business men, landowners who were well
established (America had been an English colony for 167 years by the time 1776
rolled around). They did everything in their power to protect their interests.
We already know they were conspirators.....or the revolution would not have
occurred.
Few of them wanted power, but most of them badly wanted the mother country to
stop taking a cut of what they did.....

What he did was inappropriate, but hardly worth wasting $40 million dollars in
an investigation and controversy that brought our government to a grinding halt
for years.

Not at all......I very much love my country, I would not choose to live anywhere
else.....
But I also recognize that not everything we did along the way was sweetness and
light......according to the script kids are taught in school.
The folks in this country over the years committed some nasty shit, got away
with it (most of the time).....some pretty dark stuff has happened, some a long
time ago...some fairly recently.
There is no contradiction at all in loving your country and disagreeing with
administration policies and actions.
That is why I can "support the troops", while at the same time be opposed to the
war, how it was started, why it was started. Being in disagreement with the
policies of an administration don't make me unpatriotic, quite the opposite.
>

No...they sought relief from taxes. They were British subjects, British law
applied......they revolted.
The taxes were levied to pay for the cost of the French and Indian War, which
was a territorial expansion of the colonies.

I've seen them.....all it means is that on occasion in his lifetime, he's worn
clothing that would appear unusual to a rural white American. Nothing
more.....some claims of him being in "muslim garb" have been shown to be him
wearing traditional garb during a trip to Kenya (where his father was born).
I've got pictures of my grandkids dressed as pumpkins, bunnies, etc. Doesn't
mean they ARE any of those things......and if they ran for office in 30 years,
those pictures wouldn't mean any more then than they do now.
I did get my wife to dress up as a French Maid one time....and although that was
a lot of fun......I still can't get her to clean house for shit. |
