all i did in the other group was make a statement that anyone (cop or not)
who walks onto *my* property and reaches out and grabs *my* loaded gun while
it is in *my* hand is lucky that it doesn't go bad. i never said a thing
about you in the other group although i have had a tad of fun with those
guys. their chains seem pretty easy to yank. i didn't blame you there or
*here* for *my* statements. you like the guys in the other group need to
work on at least high school reading comprehension skills.
but wandering into every newsgroup on the net and starting gun topics is
sure to incite quite a few flame wars. to not recognize that is either
ignorance or stupidity. its like starting political and religious threads
outside of thier groups. just a sure way to get a bunch of folks upset.
yes, i made a mistake falling in the trap this time as i do every few years,
i am a doof occasionally. so now i am putting you in my killfile along with
the mi6 guy and all the kiddy porn folks so don't bother to reply. i will
never see it. i bet you will like it in that folder with all your friends.
i will never see any post you make on any usenet group in the future and
thus the temptation to stick my foot in my mouth will be removed. although
i am somewhat dumb i do have a limited ability to learn from my mistakes.
now buy everyone a drink before you leave. or at least read the FAQ if you

I love gun threads.
My newest piece is a new Ruger LCP .380. It's wicked fun. http://www.gunblast.com/images/Ruger-LCP/DSC03239.jpg http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-LCP.htm
And... My local range put steel targets at 200 and 300 yards so I
don't have to walk down and hang targets anymore. I just listen for
the ding!
Note: I'm not shooting steel targets at 300 yards with the LCP, but
..223 makes a satisfying ding and 30-06 is very effective.

What a cute little pistol! It's kind of like a pre-fluff-n-buffed
KelTec. Very smooth and dainty.
And it won't make your pants fall down like a .45.
I like that a lot. Good review, too. Does your experience bear out the
review?

Although your guide looks interesting at first glance (I'll

Some of us can't legally carry. As such, spare us the

It is small, light and surprisingly accurate. I find that after two
or three rounds, I have to regrip because of the two-finger hold. I
had one failure to feed in the first 200 rounds. It may have been a
limp wrist or the steel case ammo. I'm switching to Winchester brass
for the next 200 to see what happens.
I also have a Keltec PF9. It's the same basic gun only bigger. It is
harder to control and takes up a lot of space in my pocket. It
really needs a coat pocket.
The Ruger is a true pocket pistol. You can actually put it in your
pocket and operate normally without bother. With the right holster,
it would appear to be a wallet. It's that small.
I had a .32ACP Beretta Tomcat and didn't like it. It was too easy to
limp wrist and wasn't very accurate. The .380 seems to be a good
compromise between size and effectiveness.

I paid $290. I'm not sure the KelTec isn't the exact same gun. It's
damned close from all appearances. I wonder if Ruger makes them
both. The specs lead me to believe they do.

I've got a crappy one, but I still would have to walk out to the 300
yard stand and put up targets. Too much work.
I do, however, walk out to the 200 yard targets and spray them with
white paint. I use iron sights at 200 and a crappy scope at 300
yards. I can't hit shit with the .223 at 300 yards without a scope.
I think the '03 Springfield 30-06 is a way better gun at 300 yards.
The ammo is fucking expensive.

I guess it's the "subject" vs. "citizen" thing.
The whole concept of the police protecting me from anything seems
strange. Here in the states at least, the police write reports and
try to solve crimes *after* they happen. That pretty much precludes
them from providing much personal protection in an emergency.
Of course, there aren't a hell of a lot of muggers or home invaders
in Banff.

Could be, I haven't investigated it, so can't add anything of value to
that aspect. What I do know is that they're both really easy to
carry. Mine fits in a watch pocket (in a closed barrel holster that
covers th' trigger). And it's surprisingly accurate. Plus being a
Dutchman th' $150 price tag makes it better'n yers ; P

I still like my Davis Ind. .38 derringer . Two hole belly gun , but then
the majority of "situations" happen at arms length ... and it's very nearly
invisible in my hip pocket . Six spare rounds in every vehicle I generally
use - just in case two ain't enough . Kinda ruins a perp's day when he gets
a muzzle instead of a wallet ... or so I've heard . <g>

there was no flaming about the thread on that particular newsgroup before

if you didnt notice, there are a LOT of folks in this newsgroup who also
carry. this is "supposed" to be some type of virtual bar where folks chat
about whatever is on their minds. some respect that because they practice
what they preach. others are simply hypocrites...bitter old men who hope to
elevate themselves by jumping on any newbie that happens through....on the
one hand saying "its whatever you make it" and on the other hand bitching
and whining about content and insignficant sig lines. its sorta sad.

the ruger LCP is getting pretty dang popular, with most stores having
difficulty keeping them on the shelves for a single day. if you would like
i have extensive .380 ballistics available. if this is your primary carry
weapon, please carry FMJ loads so that you will at least have adequate
