Three buddies and I were riding one evening. We parked near a bar. One
of my buddies had one of those locks, the rest of us did not. We got out
of the bar and his had been stolen. There was a couple pieces of the
broken lock on the ground, but his bike was gone. The cops said that
locks like that, especially when they're a bright color, attract the
attention of bike thieves. They're recommending that no one use anything
like that. Talked to my insurance man about it, and he said that if I
used a lock like that he was gonna raise my premium because it is more
liable to be stolen.
