| | | Tell Al Gore We Got Cheated Out Of Summer This Year Whew! We haven't had but three days over 75 degs. 14 days over 65
degs. Fairbanks is flooding with it raining everyday for weeks. I
haven't had one ride with just my tank top on and been wearing chaps for
warmth. The odd thing this weather brought out the black and brown bear
population resulting in lots of maulings in the Anchorage to Denali Park
region. All the great salmon fishing was two to three weeks late and the
giant Mat-Su Veggies ain't so big. I need some bike time in the lower 48.

I missed summer this year too......one of the hottest on record for us with
number of days over 110....
But it did rain more than it has in 10 years or more.... |

Yup. Have a look at this: http://www.climatethermometer.com/
Fairbanks and San Francisco look much colder than usual, while Phoenix
looks a lot hotter over the same period of time.

Exactly.......and that's the problem with calling it "Global Warming", skeptics
act like since the "warming" is suppose to be "global" and since it's not
actually warmer everywhere......that "global warming" doesn't exist and the
folks who try to do something about it are bleeding leftist liberal nutjobs.
Usually they (folks who don't believe it) think like they do because of
intentional campaigns of disinformation by people/corporations with interests
that will be hurt by actually doing something about it......and they're fed that
stuff by fair and balanced news outlets like faux news.....
The actual warming may not be right where you're standing......or in the next
town.....but the warming is happening in places that matter because it ends up
changing climate/weather patterns in other places......
Very small changes in temps in the oceans are enough to effect currents, which
in turn effect weather.......
We're doomed I tell ya.......doomed......<sfsf>

You sed it! Now it's my turn:
If we're doomed, it's inevitable. There's not a single damned thing
humanity can do, or a whole raft of things together, that will change
the combined natural cycles that the Earth is going through, I tell
ya. All this attribution to man's activities is poppycock. It's been
hotter than it is now, without any "human activities," or even humans
present, and it's been a damned-sight colder; many times, in the
couple-a-billion years this electron we're riding on has orbited that
atomic nucleus we call the Sun. Yeah, that's what the solar system
(atom) is, BTW, justone atom in one molecule (the Milky Way Galaxy)
and along with all of the billions and billions of galaxies we can
see, comprise the tiniest corner of a dog turd left on the front step
of the courthouse in another "dimension" so vast that our minds can't
even conceive of it. Wait'll you die, you'll see. "You will wish
yourself to distant orbs in a moment." Just a sidebar, there. Sorry.
Just like nineteenth century "scientists," the "Global Warming"
Chicken Littles started with the presumption that what is, just _is_,
and isn't supposed to change, so ennything that _does_ change must be
OUR FAULT!
So, Algore, the energy sucking utility pig with the "carbon
footprint," of his mansion in Tennessee, his limos and his private
jets, the size of of Godzilla's sneakers, comes out with a completely
bass-ackwards attribution of human carbon-dioxide emission for the
warming of the atmosphere, like we could actually _do_ anything to
change the global average temperature, when thar's solid science that
says increases in carbon dioxide historically aren't the cause of
warming, but a product of it. Algore is the poster-boy for an all-new
way to sucker humanity to make money. Hell, he won the Nobel Prize and
an Oscar already from the pussies.
The orbits of the planets (meaning the distance for the light/heat
to travel to us from the Sun) and the tilt of the Earth's axis, and
even (probably mainly) the Sun's long heating and cooling cycle are
the reasons for the natural cycle we're entering. F all this "greenie'
offal! If we're doomed, it's only because we can't adapt to natural
changes. The Midwest won't be the Breadbasket of the World much
longer. That will happen, but we won't stop the changes, only learn to
modify ourselves and our behaviors as a result of them. You can't hold
back nature, only accommodate it.
People look a school globes and think humankind somehow "owns" this
planet, and is actually capable of making a real change occur. Ever
hear of the "Little Ice Age?" (c.1100-1850) That was only the most
recent variation in it.Algore's charts themsrlves prove it.
We ARE doomed, actually, and that will be when the super-cauldera
known as Yellowstone National Park blows it's top, and that's due/
overdue. That's capable of end ing civiliation-as-we-know-it on this
planet. The floor of the 45 mile-wide valley has risen measurable in
just the last century. Something's building up.

Ah. So it's not just r.m.h that you don't know a lot about.
Good to know.

Ah, so if it doesn't fit the current "PC" of the bleeding leftist
liberal nutjobs, it doesn't exist! Now I'm enlightened!
Twenty years ago the fear was for the return of an Ice Age. Forty
years ago the prediction was for excesive warming, etc, etc. It's all
true, anyway. When the North Atlantic thermal transfer stops for lack
of a temperature-gradient between north and south, Europe will freeze
again. It will, and it has before. We puny hoomin beans can't do a
thing to prevent it.
This is just another cultural paradigm shift. The Greenies are in it
for the money they see to be made creating new products and new
processes that "everyone" will have to embrace, fearing what is
ultimately inevitable.
Yeah, petroleum as-we-know-it is millions of years old, and
gradually running out. All of our gasoline-powered conveyances still
extant will probably be in museums by the 22nd Century, unless they
find a workable replacement for the Natural Stuff.

Hell, they can make Bucky Balls, an unnatural Carbon construction,
already.
Saving your glass and plastic bottles and crap to recycle is a "good

It's all bullshit. Life is short, rough, and some of us try their

No, School of Hard Knocks Graduate, Summa Cum Laude. I usta be paid
to shoot people and kill them, who were just as shit-scared of what
they were doing and where they were as I was, before they killed me.
Ever since, l've lived life like the gift it is. You can't quantify
that. But I hate to see people fucking it up with some of the
stupidest proposals imaginable.
John Birch nutjobs saw commies behind every tree in the '50s. Were
you even alive then? I was. I see the greatest experiment in Human
self-government (1776 to 2000-and-something) flushing itself down the
toilet in the name of "Political Correctness." What a sack of horse
apples.
The ACLU was founded to stand for defending the 1st Amendment. Just
today, they filed to overturn emergency juvenile curfews in two cities
where people are afraid to open their doors even in the daytime, or
show a shadow on their curtains after dark. "How dare we trample on
the 'civil rights' of these gun-totin' juvie gangbangers!" they say.
The police in those cities are truly the thin blue line between
civilized society and total bestiality, and they're finding that the
bleeding leftist liberal nutjobs are fighting tooth-and-nail to
preserve the rights of dirtbags to overrun 'um. That makes me a
Bircher? You have no idea who I am. Just 'cause I don't go with worst
of the popular left-coast loonyism, I must be a Right Wing screamin'
John Bircher tryin' to tear down Paradise and put up a parking lot!
Get real. That's much of what's wrong in America today. I'm for the
God-given inalienable right of self-defense, yeah. I'm also for a
woman's right to choose. That alone puts me at odds with Hannity and
Rush and Bill O. and those screamin', short-sighted media
millionaires.
I blame it on Richard Milhaus Nixon. That is the unmentionable, but
very real legacy of the man who took the US Presidency, and the
American political process, and turned it all into a great big game of
"gotcha!" We lost something (essential) when we totally lost respect
for those we elect to office, and all because of him. Our "media"
today works only to "get the goods" on every single person who dares
speak his/her mind, cleaving this country in two, for "ratings." We
suffer from it here in our little Biker Forum because it infects every
one of us. The Bastard!

I was in the military also.......I was paid mainly to be a boat mechanic.
My DD214 shows a Vietnam Service Medal with campaign star, a Combat Action
Ribbon, and a National Defense Medal. I was involved in an opposed beach landing
at Quang Tri in 1972, the mining of Haiphong Harbor that same year, and the
clearing of those mines the next. The last operation I worked was Frequent Wind,
the evacuation of Saigon.
I did three WestPac cruises (I describe them as "tours" for the non-Naval types
who don't know better), all within the combat zone in SE Asia.
I don't have any exciting war stories, didn't have to walk around in the jungle
and other shit like that. But did spend a lot of time in small boats hauling
Marines around from place to place. Only time we took enemy fire was from shore
batteries (artillery) and machine gun emplacements, none of it came all that
close to me......
I was in for 4 years and was an E5 when I was returned to being a civilian in
mid-1975.
I then did another 26 years working for a municipality, until I retired in 2005.

Yep, sure was........
Actually the John Birch Society was founded in 1958 and still operates today.
They've worked to impeach both Clinton AND Bush....<sfsf>

A science special I saw on one of the DSC, TLC, NGEO, or SCI channels
suggested that it took some 100K's or M's of years for the excessive CO2 of
the last (long) global warming cycle to turn to carbon and get deposited in
the resultant stagnant oceans all those millions of years ago, and _that_
carbon gave us the oil that we now burn, which in turn releases CO2 back
into the atmosphere. Ipso facto, man is speeding up the natural process by
burning oil, in effect speeding up global warming.
Personally I don't give a fuck what I use for fuel, so the cleaner the
better, not just for the possibility that it is impacting global warming,
but also for the reason that exhaust from oil fired internal combustion
engines is nasty shit, period. Don't think so? Then come on over and suck on
the exhaust pipe of my Harley <sfsf>.
Just saying.

Yeah, unlike the fiscally responsible borrow and spend republicans, those
fiscally irresponsible tax and spend democrats really have their heads up
their asses. I mean, why the fuck would anyone want to pay their bills now,
when they can borrow the money, and pay later with interest?
Doesn't make any sense. |
