| | | The Winona Archive Wow, it's been a long time since I've been here. I see a couple of
familiar old names here. I was a regular on RMH back in the 1990s,
where I earned my Asshole #20. I dropped off the map in 1999 when I
began a long-running house renovation in Brooklyn, NY.
Anyway, I popped back for a reason. In the 90s, John Stafford (AH
#3?) was operating a vintage motorcycle archive out of his university
in Winona. The school decided it didn't want scooter trash hogging
its bandwidth anymore so I arranged to foster the archive until he
could find a new home for it. That was about, oh, eleven years ago
and I've still got it. I just uploaded it to Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2882724...7606840079274/
Lots of cool bike shots. You'll also find a set of photos of the RMH
old timers from the 90s in there: John, Crispy Banana, Eddie Kieger,
Vicki Menard, Carol Mandera, Tom Deboni, the RCR and MITM crew and
more.
Enjoy.

Not a Harley unfortunately. My Road King was stolen from my garage
shortly after I began this renovation and I used the insurance money
to invest in stuff I needed a lot more at the time: table saw,
jointer, router table, etc. as well as new wiring, plumbing, floors,
termite repairs, etc. I've kept a blog of the drama: http://www.brooklynrowhouse.com/house
For the moment, I'm riding a '97 Triumph Daytona, a '99 VFR and an '87
EX500 (urban rat bike). Every time I get close to affording a new
Harley I get undermined by another bank account-sucking/time-sucking
priority.

metric bikes for a larger part of my life and recently got my first harley.

I was just thinking about the Hoolibago. You haven't seen those guys
lately? Last time I saw any Hooligan it was Sputter at SNIFF a few
years back. Haven't heard about Inch or Doc Gonzo or Jason in ages.

Left it all for someone else to read... I remember when I first got
here, your Winona Mirror gave me a lot of good information about the
group of people in here, and made me want to stick around.
Stafford's still here and has been posting recently... I talk to the
other John every now and then... he's gone to the dark side with a
GoldWing... I think he's still got a Harley (or two). Crispy's on the
NJCycles list, Vicki's around, Carol's busy... The Hooligans from NY/NJ
are still there, Doc... Inch..(Inch is deployed somewhere in the
desert), and Jason is in the Philly area now (bought a house, so you
know where his priorities are now).
I'll be back up in NJ sometime after Labor Day, we REALLY should do the
Ear Inn some Tuesday.

Sputter (Jeff) gor married and moved back to SF. Doc became a

Always but old houses are money pits and I want this crap to be *over*
more than I want a new bike. With the last of the major reno expenses
out of the way, last month I found an FLHP stored in a garage a few
blocks away. It wasn't running but it looked pretty clean. No crash
damage, mostly neglect and tyromaniac performance upgrades to undo.
Then I got hit with eight grand in vet bills.
I'll get there.

Wow - amazing, Steve. I just spent 1 1/2 hours on your blog. The
house is gorgeous. You should have had your own series on HGTV. Such
incredible work. I can only imagine the pride you have in your home.
