Default Alaska 2008

I know it's real early to be talking about a 2008 ride but this is a
big one and would require advance planning for anyone wanting to take
it in.

http://www.actualriders.ca/alaska_2008.htm

The more I look at this, the more I like it. I am thinking of mid July
as a launch time.

Calgary, Creston, New Denver, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Haines via
the Alaska Marine Highway, Anchorage, Fairbanks and then home.

This would be at least a three week ride, maybe a touch more, and a
lot of miles, through what has to be the best scenery one can find on
two wheels and a boat.

I'm gonna try to make it happen. As always anyone wanting to take it
in is welcome to join me.

If you can make it I'll be looking for you, Don.

This is a big ride Robert, but it is looking like it is going to
happen.

I'll buy you one of your favorite beverages when we roll in.

It's a ride and a half, no doubt. From your and RGD's pics, I'm afraid
the scenery won't be much different than home either.

Well I guess since you live there you can't appreciate the challenge
and adventure of riding the Alaska highway. There is a certain, almost
sensual attraction for us flatlanders to make the journey. Factor in
that ferry ride through the inside passage and it almost becomes lust.

Yeah I think I am gonna make this ride.

I've never done the inside passage, but I hear it pretty nice. Plan early
for that, as I hear it gets booked for summer pretty quick.
