Lt. Paul Golonski of the CHP said it appears Mata failed to do
anything
to avoid the collision.
"We're in a quandary as to why she didn't apply the brakes or take
evasive action," Golonski said.
[snip]
Other motorcyclists told investigators that Mata and the group of
motorcyclists
she was riding with had sped past them further up the mountain and
speed
possibly played a role in the crash, Golonski said.
An initial report that a possible cause of the accident was that Mata
had
crossed the double-yellow center line into the path of the truck was
incorrect, Golonski said.
That initial description upset many in the motorcycling community. It
is unlikely
the CHP's latest findings will quell that anger.
Seems like when an experienced rider fails to take any evasive
action, maybe it's because she didn't have time, either because
of her speed or because the driver cut her off very badly.
It's unfortunate if the only witness to the accident is the truck
driver.
Wonder if he also gave them that over the yellow report. |

I wish. That'll be fun. It's a good venue for her, a nice classy
concert hall.
The last concert I went to was a week ago at the House of Blues. Jorma
Kaukonen and Barry Mitterhof. There were only ~50-70 people in the
audience and it was an incredible show. Two virtuoso musicians just
having fun on stage.

I sat on her bike at Honda of Hollywood.
Yes, she rides. She has (I think) a custom, chopped Valkerie. It was all
rusty when I saw it. I tried to sniff the saddle but only smelt mold.
