I wear the Roadcrafter over my work clothes, and have been doing so on
my commute for over ten years. I live in the Washington, D.C. metor
area. I swear by this suit. It is not totally weatherproof, but if
you clean it once a year and apply ScotchGuard or some other
weatherproofing spray, and if you ride behind a fairing, I think
you'll find that you won't need any additional raingear unless your
commute is longer than an hour.
Entry/egress? Fastest full protection suit I've ever donned or
doffed.
Quality? I bought my first one used, wore it for seven years, and
sold it. I'm on my second one, it's three years or so old, and looks
and feels new.
I take all the armor out except the shoulders from December through
March, and wear a Gerbing electric jacket underneath.
In the summer, I wear it with all the armor, and open the vents.
