Default Can he name it?

Can our new resident name this bike as either cruiser OR standard?

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/22aug..._star_vmax.htm

I bet it'll throw the rider off if it hits a bump at 35mph.

Pop that engine in the Venture package and I just might be first in
line to buy one.

That would really be a case of coming full circle, wouldn't it?

Buddy of mine with an '85 Vmax is lusting after the new one in a
bad way but the price of admission means he is going to need to
win the lotto for it to happen.

I told him if I win I'll make sure one shows up at his doorstep.
Maybe with me riding it, maybe not.

Yes it would and since it worked so well 20+ years ago, why mess with
a winning combination.

In Star circles there is an expectation if Yamaha keeps a touring
machine it will be packaged with a Liner or VMax engine.

Personally I like the V-Four.

Hey drop one on my doorstep too. ;-)

I'd end up killing myself if I had that kind of power at my disposal.

I believe they are functional this time, but they still look like
crap.

I met a guy at a gas station near Reno a month ago who had done just that,
That Venture could move!

The new V-Max engine?

I have met a few who have installed some of the compatible parts from
the old V-Max into the second generation Venture. I was told the V-Max
mill could not be dropped into the Venture frame.

Get me a plasma cutter and a MIG welder...we'll make it fit by gum!
Then again, you know me. Owning a V-Max wouldn't last long. I'd either
be dead or inside a prison cell they not only lost the keys to, they
even lost the cell and the prison it was in. 8^) I can't help it, it's
these damn roads they make me do bad things.

Yeah well I was thinking along the lines of a direct bolt in
replacement, but your way sounds like a heck of a lot more fun.

Yeah, well sometimes you have to work around issues. I bet we could
find a couple of Newfies with the skills. Might cost us a couple cases
of beer though. ;^)

Why do you think I ride that old wing of mine. 8^) IIRC you've seen
what my idea of making time is like. Now imagine me doing this on the
new VMax or any other high performance bike newer than the early 80's.

Who cares what Yahmaha calls it. I wonder what roadrasher would class
it in all his wisdom and god like knowledge. Cruiser or standard? Well
what would he call it? Well besides unridable...thus showing his
inability to ride anything newer than 1907.

Way back when I had an '87 Kawi ZL1000 Eliminator, which I recall the
bike mags calling a power cruiser. I'd say the Max fits that
description.

Well what is it? Everybody already KNOWS the Maker and the model...oh
wait somebody else already did adn you'll just agree but say it in
such a way that you imply they are wrong and your nomenclature is
correct. Which by the way it isn't.
