Well now .. this one's watched the super bikes for a long time. And I also
watch motocross. I was born in 48 .. .does that count?

Hey lads, consider me totally new to newsgroups - this is my first
posting in about 15 years! Maybe I have forgotten, or maybe the rules
have changed since I last used newsgroups but I would have expected a
more wholesome welcome that shown to the guy trying to sell his harley
stuff.

I actually joined the newsgroup to try and promote my motorcycle
rental business to bikers around the world but it seems that
newsgroups is not the place to do it. Not that I can't take what was
dished out to the harley guy, I can, and I can give it back just as
good.

How does the harley guy differ from a bloke selling his bike or
another bloke renting his bikes? Does anybody have a copy of the
rules for this group and who makes them up????

There ARE Usenet groups specifically setup for people to list their
commercial stuff for sale. It has been years since I've looked at
any of them, though.

Imagine how many businesses are out there. Now imagine if it
was acceptable to advertise on Usenet, what would happen if
every one of those businesses were to start advertising on Usenet.

The rule of thumb is that if your a business, and you want to
advertise, you MUST pay to do so. You either pay a newspaper,
or a radio station, or a billboard, or a yellow pages, or something.

Do you pay every time you post here? No? Well, that ought
to have been a big hint for you. Did you see a ton of commercial
advertisement posts here? Well that ought to have been another
big hint.

1976 on our way to DC. Stopped at springfield to watch racing on the
mile in ohio. Way cool though a Scorpion kind eclipsed the whole thing
for me. ;^) It's a neat little homebuilt helicopter.
p.s. Oh and seconded on the fuckoff spammer. I'd rather send them a
bit of black ice instead though.
