Default missfiring

I brought a very sorry looking honda cb 650z which had been standing for
quite a long while (many years, it hasnt been taxed since 2000). Any how i
brought it home and set about looking at it.
i brought a booster charger for it and managed to get it actually running to
my dissbelief and it was running very very well, I didn't get it road worthy
but was starting it regulaly and after a while it decided not to start so i
put in some new plugs, it now starts and runs but it seems to missfire and
stutter a bit, I am thinking that maybe i can change the ignition leads and
caps but there is a good spark at each cylinder, i am wondering if it is
going to mean i have to strip the carbs down, i really dont want to do this
as they sounded so well ballanced when i first got it runningand i was also
wondering if there was a product out there that i could maybe spray directly
in to the airfilter box to clean the carbs through.

No, spraying chemicals into the airbox won't clean the carbs out.

You might be able to clean your carbs while you ride, by measuring out
about four or five ounces of carburetor cleaner and pouring it into a
full tank of gas and riding until the engine runs better.

In the USA, we have Berryman B12, STP, and GumOut and a host of other
clear aerosol carburetor cleaners which contain toluene, acetone and
methyl ethyl ketone.

They come in an aerosol can with a red plastic tube that you can stick
into
the pilot air jet, which is the smaller of two holes in the carburetor
mouth.

Riders in the UK have mentioned Red Line as a possible carb cleaner.

Chemicals which are called "fuel system cleaner" are usually just
petroleum distillate, and they are for *lubricating* sticky fuel
injectors, not cleaning carburetors.

Spraying carburetor cleaner into the pilot air jet will clean out the
idle mixture passages and the transition ports, but, in really
stubborn cases, you have to remove the idle mixture screws after
you've turned them all the way in, counting the number of turns.

The idle mixture screws will be forward of the float bowls if they are
underneath the carbs, or they will be on top, just forward of the
diaphragm covers.

Carburetors in the USA have EPA anti-tamper plugs hiding the idle
mixture screws, and these have to be pilot drilled so a sheet metal
screw can be used to pull the plugs out to access the idle mixture
screws.

Once you have squirted carburetor cleaner through the idle mixture
ports, you can reinstall the idle mixture screws, turning them all the
way in, and then turning them back out the same number of turns you
counted when removing them.

First question: Are you, perchance, trying to run the thing
on whatever gas has been sitting there in the tank for
Gawd-knows-how-long?

Second question: Has someone stolen the shift and period keys
from your keyboard?
