Uh, which engine would that be?

Hint--if you tried to post a photo, many USENET providers strip
binaries from non-binary groups or simply block posts containing
binaries. To post a photo put it up on a free photo site and then
post a link.

If it was in the original posting, it didn't show up in Google. Never
mind.

Fascinating engine. It's a pushrod parallel twin, but God knows who
built it. I've never seen anything like it. A factory one-off, or a
special?

It looks like some sort of British vertical twin, but those two bolts
have SAE grade 5 markings...

I don't think it is a motorcycle engine. It may be some sort of pump
motor.

The internet. Figuring it wasn't likely to be a common
brit bike, I was guessing Indian or Horex. 1950s because
of the separate engine and tranny. The slanted pushrods
and funny tappet covers are the most unusual features.

What I'm still not clear on is the history of the Indian twin(s).
Some of them at least were rebadged Enfields. This one
seems like it might be a genuine Indian.

Bloody hellfire. You're right.

I'm impressed. And I never knew Indian made a parallel twin.

The mystery has been solved. It's a post-war (WWII) Indian Scout or
Warrior.)

Nice catch. That must be some sort of custom plug where the primary
goes. I didn't think the vertical Indians had pushrod tubes like
that.

Look at 1953. Indian stops making their own motorcycles and starts
selling Royal Enfield and other British bikes.
