Default SHARP helmet testing

Sort of surprising seeing how they rated different brands vs. DOT and Snell.
The Bell and BMW came out high. Arai and Shoei middle of the road (!).
Even gave the Nolan N-103 which is a heavy one and very noisy over say Shoei
Mulitech a 4 out of 5 for a flip-face.

Yeah, the Bells did REALLY well.

What I find interesting is that the U.S. has only pass fail (DOT or not,
Snell or not), but the star rankings among [equivalently] DOT-legal helmets
gives the buyer more information.

Interesting.

Shame their methodology is already be called to question or out right
lambasted. The test teh sides of the helmet, while studies show that
the front of the helmet isn't iirc and anyone who think the top is as
important as the front is delusional.

Yeah, it does look like the tests aren't quite what they seem to be.

IIRC the gripe on MCN (by readers) was the focus on side impact to the
helmet and not the front or back.
