There's several inches of snow here (approx 100 meters elevation)
but down at the blueberry farm (near sea level) they have 3 inches
of slushy stuff like a giant slurpee covering the whole landscape.

None of my bikes is any good for riding today, and the VW trike has
such little weight on the front wheel it might not even steer, so I'm
thinking about the Ural with sidecar.

If it was made for year-round road conditions in Russia then it should
be ok for Canada, although the 100 kph top speed is a bit limiting.

However it's got two-wheel drive (Gear-Up and Patrol models) and
reverse. Besides Ural (or CJ, now that Dnepr has shut down) are there
other choices if I want these features?

ps. Tud's article (in rec.motorcycles.harley) "Short clip" has a link
to a video of him playing in the snow with his Gear-Up. It demonstrates
the convenience of reverse gear and the difference between single and
dual wheel drive. (Google Groups has it if the posting has expired.)

I really shouldn't watch stuff like this, because it awakens yearnings
for things I can't afford, and diminishes the enjoyment of bikes
I already have. Sigh.

That's not Tud , it's a Ural sales video . But he does ride his in the
snow , got a pic of him and his bike as background on my desktop .
