Default Touring asia

Anyone know of how easy/difficult it would be to tour asia?
If there's someone who's done it or has some experience or suggestions
I'd be pleased to hear them.

I was thinking specifically about south east asia - maybe Malaysia,
Singapore, Thailand, Laos. That sort of area.

I read somewhere that it was possible (how easy I don't know) to get
hold an (Indian) Royal Enfield

Cheers,

There are a gazillion bikes in Asia. I've ridden in Indo and India (by
renting local bikes for a week or so.) It can be scary. Traffic in
major cities is abominable. OTOH, travel by public transport is easy.
If you just want to go to SEA and it's not necessarily about the bike
travel, buy a plane ticket. You can get anywhere you want to go by
train, bus, taxi, and rickshaw. Travel by motorcycle would be a bigger
adventure, and also more challenging.

Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world, and
politics has made it a bit more dangerous, but not unsurmountable.
Crime exists, and tourists need to take more precautions, but if
you're smart, it's not a problem.

Big motorcycles are rare. That means anything over 350cc.

As for a carnet de passage, you'll need to do some homework.
Where are you from?

I'm in the UK.

Thanks to C for the links - I really enjoyed reading the trip report
from the guy touring in Vietnam.
