Default OT: News sources

Ok, so this is boringly off topic, but where do most of you get your
news from?

I normally use the BBC and Google News, but I'm interested in finding
more about local stuff and I can't find any decent sources.

Yesterday took quite a while to get home because City Airport was
closed. Think I can find anything on this despite local road closures,
delays to DLR and taxis all over the place? Not a chance... Same goes
for a trip past St George's pool a couple of weeks back when armed
police had two lanes of the Highway closed and traffic in a
contraflow.

Ok, I admit - I'm nosy

I use http://news.sky.com/skynews/ for national & the local radio
station's website for local.

Not that I've seen fortunately There was a politics based one but I
think it faded when people realised that there were about 4 people
rehashing the same arguments over and over.

Oh for that I do the school run in the morning. 10 minutes in the
playground and I know *everything*.

fill in any blanks.

I use UKRM. It's full of news and all of it up to the minute and 100%
correct.

I use www.thisismonmouthshire.co.uk which redirects to a local newspaper
group http://www.freepressseries.co.uk/

Substitute your county name into the url or look it up on the portal at the
Newsquest portal http://www.thisisnewsquest.co.uk/

I saw plenty of new snow last week on the Hintertux glacier. Took the
gondolas up to 3250m to find nothing but white snow and cloud. Visibility
was about 20m, and the skiers looked a bit miffed.
Apparently, it sometimes looks like this

I'm sure there was. There was a reasonable amount down to about 200m
last weekend in Engelberg. Not skiable amounts, except on the glacier
itself, but a fair bit.

Ha. Serves 'em right. Summer skiing's rarely aorth the effort at the
best of times anyway.

Here's one I took from the top of Titlis in March, plus a few piccies
of me skiing the Laub
