My mate shoved me on his 13xx FLFXFL<whatever> for an hour and he rode
her XV750.
He seemed quite happy at the end, apparently quite impressed overall
and I was happy to cross that box off my wish list. ;-)
All the best ..

I've ridden a couple, don't bother cos they really are shite.

Right, no pictures as yet but an update for you all.
From what little I can see of it it's a red, small faringed motorbike
(it's between 125 offroader and a hard place). ;-)
The logbook tells me it was first registered June 1986 and that it's a
Kawasaki ZX550- A2 << (shrug)
The last MOT is from August 2005 (expired Aug 2006) and at that point
it had done 48500 miles (only done a few since).
In amongst the paperwork was the receipt from the previous owner and
is says "it hadn't been running for the previous 4 years and was sold
as seen".
Apparently neighbour had a new chain and sprockets and two new tyres
fitted for the last MOT (so that could be good news).
He's going to get the bike out tomorrow for me and if I still like I
can take it home to play. ;-)
He said that apart from a dead battery (and probably stale petrol) it
should run. The 'fault' was the tickover was rough so it was raised a
bit to overcome that issue (a guy who looked at it for him said "they
all do that" ...)?
So that's about all I can tell you so far. The front disks looked ok
as did the tyre, the (tinted) screen looked in good nick but the
paintwork looked a bit rough (no surprises there of course). I
couldn't see much else.
So, how does it sound so far?
All the best ..

p.s. The other good news is he might want her Skipper (that could save
a lot of mucking about). :-) |

I like mine, but then again I'm not exactly known for being quite right
in the head anyway.

The best bit about having a GPz550 when they first came out was the
fact that decent (for the time) tyres were available and cornering
became constant fun rather than a constant learning curve. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
